Pendleton Roundup Golf Tournament Raises Money for JCCF

We had a great time Letting ‘Er Golf at the 28th Annual Cowboy Memorial Golf Tournament on September 11, 2017 in Pendleton, Oregon at the beautiful Pendleton Country Club Golf Course. Cowboys and golfers came together for a fun morning of golf benefitting the Justin Cowboy Crisis Fund.

A great committee led by Butch Thurman worked very hard to make sure the tournament was a success. PRCA announcer Curt Robinson served as the emcee for the awards and the Pendleton Roundup and Happy Canyon Court were on hand to greet golfers in the morning.

The tournament was established in 1990 in memory of plane crash victims Mike Currin, Dave P. Smith, David Bowen and Randy Dierlam, who died with pilot Bob Card on a rodeo trip to Alberta.

Over 30 PRCA cowboys who were entered in Pendleton joined us for the tournament this year. The tournament has raised more than $125,000 for the Justin Cowboy Crisis Fund since its inception. The winners walked away with beautiful Montana Silversmiths Buckles and other great prizes.  Thanks to everyone in Pendleton who supports this event and the memory of some great cowboys.

In 2017, the event raised $10,000 for JCCF.

Butch Thurman (r) and Marv Anderson (l) presented a check to JCCF’s Julie Jutten during the Wrangler National Finals for $10,000 representing proceeds from the annual Cowboy Memorial Golf Tournament.
